I am Choi Si-don, Chairman of Korea Electronics Packaging and Circuits Association (KPCA)

Over the past two decades, the PCB and semiconductor packaging industries have stood as pillars of Korea’s IT sector, significantly contributing to the national economy, even amidst numerous shifts in the business landscape. Despite these achievements, there has been a perception of the industry as being in decline, largely due to the lower value-added nature of mid-to-low-end PCB production and the trend toward overseas manufacturing.

However, PCB products remain fundamental across the electronics and IT industries. I strongly believe that continued government-level attention and strategic support are essential to strengthening Korea’s competitiveness in the global supply chain.

Our PCB and semiconductor packaging industries play a vital role as key supply chain components for Korea’s primary export sectors, including semiconductors, automobiles, and electronics. Furthermore, these industries are now on the cusp of new growth opportunities.

As KPCA Chairman, I am committed to advancing all member companies to new heights in the global market.
